Now I know there are more important things in life besides "American Idol" but for me, till May, there is not! I am a devoted watcher now for all 6 seasons BUT I am pretty disappointed with it this year. First, I really don't think there are any "fantastic" singers on it this year but, I do like a few. Now with that said, Sanjaya is NOT among them. This boy has got to go!! This is a singing competition and anyone with ears can tell he cannot sing. At this point, it's more of a popularity contest which is not really fair to the people that can actually sing. The network really needs to come up with a different way of voting that only allows so many calls per phone line. Now there are probably over a hundred thousand little girls out there screaming "NO NO SANJAYA IS SO CUTE" but cuteness does not = talent
Now I also love "Dancing with the Stars" but this show seems to be geared more towards "grown-ups". I don't really see to many speed dialing to vote for these people just because they are "cute". Besides I don't think there are to many kids watching this show.
I like the reality shows, now I know some parts are staged even tho they are suppose to be reality but nonetheless, I still like them.
One show I really liked (but it's over now) was "Grease - You’re the one that I want"…..boy could these people sing! Now to me, they were actual singers! I hope they come out with more shows like this.
I wish I could sing like some of these people but I guess that was not my calling however, if I could sing, I would want to have a voice like Martina McBride. To me, I have never heard such a flawless voice………..she can sing!
Maybe in my next life………….

I've never gotten into the AI thing, but I do love dancing with the stars. I was a PE teacher and dance was always my favorite thing to teach - it is something I can "pick apart" where singing...well let's just say I'm tone-deaf.
(off-topic: you can go in and chnage your font colors and background colors under layouts and choose colors - I didn't add a new background, I just changed the colors. I did figure out the html codes to add a second column, because that is something you can't change through blogger's choices. Take a look at the colors and have fun - I did) :)
