With Easter just around the corner, I found this very interesting........I bet most of us never really paid attention to god's little hint's!

Now I know there are more important things in life besides "American Idol" but for me, till May, there is not! I am a devoted watcher now for all 6 seasons BUT I am pretty disappointed with it this year. First, I really don't think there are any "fantastic" singers on it this year but, I do like a few. Now with that said, Sanjaya is NOT among them. This boy has got to go!! This is a singing competition and anyone with ears can tell he cannot sing. At this point, it's more of a popularity contest which is not really fair to the people that can actually sing. The network really needs to come up with a different way of voting that only allows so many calls per phone line. Now there are probably over a hundred thousand little girls out there screaming "NO NO SANJAYA IS SO CUTE" but cuteness does not = talent
Now I also love "Dancing with the Stars" but this show seems to be geared more towards "grown-ups". I don't really see to many speed dialing to vote for these people just because they are "cute". Besides I don't think there are to many kids watching this show.
I like the reality shows, now I know some parts are staged even tho they are suppose to be reality but nonetheless, I still like them.
One show I really liked (but it's over now) was "Grease - You’re the one that I want"…..boy could these people sing! Now to me, they were actual singers! I hope they come out with more shows like this.
I wish I could sing like some of these people but I guess that was not my calling however, if I could sing, I would want to have a voice like Martina McBride. To me, I have never heard such a flawless voice………..she can sing!
Maybe in my next life………….

One Dollar Bill
Take out a one dollar bill. The one dollar bill you're looking at first came off the presses in 1957 in its present design. This so-called paper money is in fact a cotton and linen blend, with red and blue minute silk fibers running through it. It is actually material. We've all washed it without it falling apart. A special blend of ink is used, the contents we will never know. It is overprinted with symbols and then it is starched to make it water resistant and pressed to give it that nice crisp look.
If you look on the front of the bill, you will see the United States Treasury Seal. On the top you will see the scales for a balanced budget. In the center you have a carpenter's square, a tool used for an even cut. Underneath is the Key to the United States Treasury. That's all pretty easy to figure out, but what is on the back of that dollar bill is something we should all know.
If you turn the bill over, you will see two circles. Both circles, together, comprise the Great Seal of the United States. The First Continental Congress requested that Benjamin Franklin and a group of men come up with a Seal. It took them four years to accomplish this task and another two years to get it approved. If you look at the left-hand circle, you will see a Pyramid. Notice the face is lighted, and the western side is dark. This country was just beginning. We had not begun to explore the West or decided what we could do for Western Civilization. The Pyramid is uncapped, again signifying that we were not even close to being finished. Inside the capstone you have the all-seeing eye, an ancient symbol for divinity. It was Franklin's belief that one man couldn't do it alone, but a group of men, with the help of God, could do anything.
"IN GOD WE TRUST" is on this currency. The Latin above the pyramid, ANNUIT COEPTIS, means, "God has favored our undertaking." The Latin below the pyramid, NOVUS ORDO SECLORUM, means, "a new order has begun." At the base of the pyramid is the Roman Numeral for 1776. If you look at the right-hand circle, and check it carefully, you will learn that it is on every National Cemetery in the United States. It is also on the Parade of Flags Walkway at the Bushnell, Florida National Cemetery, and is the centerpiece of most hero's monuments. Slightly modified, it is the seal of the President of the United States, and it is always visible whenever he speaks, yet very few people know what the symbols mean.
The Bald Eagle was selected as a symbol for victory for two reasons: First, he is not afraid of a storm; he is strong, and he is smart enough to soar above it. Secondly, he wears no material crown. We had just broken from the King of England. Also, notice the shield is unsupported. This country can now stand on its own. At the top of that shield you have a white bar signifying congress, a unifying factor. We were coming together as one nation. In the Eagle's beak you will read, "E PLURIBUS UNUM", meaning, "one nation from many people". Above the Eagle, you have thirteen stars, representing the thirteen original colonies, and any clouds of misunderstanding rolling away. Again, we were coming together as one. Notice what the Eagle holds in his talons. He holds an olive branch and arrows. This country wants peace, but we will never be afraid to fight to preserve peace. The Eagle always wants to face the olive branch, but in time of war, his gaze turns toward the arrows.
They say that the number 13 is an unlucky number. This is almost a worldwide belief. You will usually never see a room numbered 13, or any hotels or motels with a 13th floor. But think about this: 13 original colonies, 13 signers of the Declaration of Independence, 13 stripes on our flag, 13 steps on the Pyramid, 13 letters in the Latin above, 13 letters in "E Pluribus Unum", 13 stars above the Eagle, 13 bars on that shield, 13 leaves on the olive branch, 13 fruits, and if you look closely, 13 arrows. And, for minorities: the 13th Amendment.
I always ask people, "Why don't you know this?" Your children don't know this, and their history teachers don't know this. Too many veterans have given up too much to ever let the meaning fade. Many veterans remember coming home to an America that didn't care. Too many veterans never came home at all.
Share this with someone, so they can learn what is on the back of the UNITED STATES ONE DOLLAR BILL, and what it stands for... Otherwise, they will probably never know...

Boring Blogger
So I've come to the conclusion that I am not a very good blogger. Although I like to come here and post stuff it just doesn't seem interesting. I visit several different blogs and they are always so creative and interesting. Then I look at mine and it's oh so blah. So I sit and try and think of something interesting to post and I have no good idea's. Good thing I'm not a writer of some sort because I probably would not sell a thing! I guess I could really post all sorts of things but who wants to come and read my complaints? Well not that they would all be complaints maybe a little whining would fit in there somewhere. Most of my blogging idea's come from other blogs so that's not really original........... Therefore, this is how I've come to the conclusion that I am a blogless blogger. Oh well, maybe a good idea will pop into my head sooner or later........

The Dash
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning to the end
He noted that first came the date of her birth
And spoke the following date with tears,
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth.
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth
For it matters not how much we own;
The cars, the house, the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you’d like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what’s true and real
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we’ve never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy is being read
With your life’s actions to rehash
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?
At the funeral of a friend
He referred to the dates on her tombstone

My Wish
There are days when sometimes I just stop and stare at my son and think about what life has in store for him. I mean what everyday things in life he's going to come across. We all know that sometimes life is not easy.......I can't protect him from "everything" as this is a part of growing up and will mold him into the person that he's going to become. No matter what, I will love him with all of my heart till the day I die. There is a song from Rascal Flatts called "My Wish".......this to me, says it all..........
I hope that the days come easy and the moments pass slow,
And each road leads you where you want to go,
And if you're faced with a choice, and you have to choose,
I hope you choose the one that means the most to you.
And if one door opens to another door closed,
I hope you keep on walkin' till you find the window,
If it's cold outside, show the world the warmth of your smile,
But more than anything, more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.
I hope you never look back, but ya never forget,
All the ones who love you, in the place you left,
I hope you always forgive, and you never regret,
And you help somebody every chance you get,
Oh, you find God's grace, in every mistake,
And you always give more than you take.
But more than anything, yeah, and more than anything,
My wish, for you, is that this life becomes all that you want it to,
Your dreams stay big, and your worries stay small,
You never need to carry more than you can hold,
And while you're out there getting where you're getting to,
I hope you know somebody loves you, and wants the same things too,
Yeah, this, is my wish.

Repetition
I think when my little one grow's up, one sport he should really consider is wrestling. Let me explain........
Repetition, repetition, repetition I'm told is the key to success. This helps a child to develop and learn as he grows. Bed time routines........bath, reading, maybe a cookie and milk......same time everynight.......all this to teach them what to expect. Ok so........
One would think after 1,013 diaper changes (ok so maybe this number is slightly exaggerated but you get the point) that one would know what to "expect"! Same routine right? Dirty diaper = lay down so mommy can change it = clean diaper. This to me is "repetition". My son seems to think not.........to him this means...ok here come's mommy, spin, turn, spin again, cry, kick.......phew...ok I win I'm up standing now.
I cannot for the life of me understand why diaper changes are a struggle! It's not bad all of the time but a majority of the time it seems to be a struggle. Most of the time I prepare myself....I find something interesting, telephone, cellphone, shoe, diaper cream.....anything that MIGHT appeal to him and keep him occupied till I can get the diaper changed! He's catching on tho as he gets older, so his attention span is not what it use to be!
How can a little person looking this innocent give me such a run for my money???

Favorite Item
My little guy doesn't really have a "favorite" item to carry around besides a washcloth. A washcloth....can you believe that? Ever since he was little, I would always hand him a washcloth when I was giving him his bottle to wipe what ran out of his little mouth. I wanted him to have a favorite "item" so I would give him nice blankets or stuffed animals but nothing really really appealed to him like the good old washcloth. Because he liked "them" so much, I went and bought new one's but these are more the size of a hand towel. He carries these everywhere with him! So when I put him to bed a washcloth goes with him to keep him company! Below is a picture when he was smaller, having a bottle with his "washcloth".
The only other thing that I found that he REALLY REALLY likes is this dog. I don't remember what it's called but it is the cutest thing! It changes colors.......it will light solid colors or if you push the button on the paw, it changes to a rainbow effect. He loves this little dog......hugs it and gives it kisses all the time. At night before bed, we sit in the rocker, lights off and turn it on. He stares at......giggles.....gives it a kiss and stares at it more till he falls asleep. It's actually pretty calming to watch. It will light for 15 minutes and shut's itself off. I tried to take a picture of it....hopefully you can see the lighted color. The picture really doesn't do it justice, the entire thing glows!

My Business Venture
A few years ago I use to make candles……what started as a hobby turned into quite a business venture!
I always loved candles and would buy them all of the time. I was an avid "Ebayer" always buying and trying different things. Yet each time my package arrived, I was always so disappointed in my purchase. Either they didn't burn right and the worst was they had no scent! This is when I decided…."I'm going to make my own candles!" I spent hours, days, months………researching on how to do this. Well I purchased a few products and gave it a whirl. Well needless to say, they didn't turn out quite right. Back to the drawing board I went researching…….purchasing more products. I started making just votives…..figured I needed to keep it small till I got the hang of this.
Each batch they started to improve so I starting selling to friends and family. Then I started selling on Ebay. After alittle while I developed a customer base. I then ventured onto jar candles. People would ask me what I carried and what scents. Well I did not have any "promotional" material, after all this was only a hobby. So I developed a website called "Mystifying Scents". I am no computer wizard by far but I would read any help page I came across. I was so proud of my website in the end! I even had a shopping cart! It didn't take long and people started placing orders…….Oooooo how exciting it was.
Well things progressed so quickly for me, before I knew it, I had over 50 different fragrances and my product line expanded greatly. I tried to keep as much as I could in stock but my house is only so big!
Well I was given an opportunity to open a little store right next door to my house. I'm talking walking distance here! And because I was a "new" and the owner was a friend, he gave me quite a break on the rent. I went and got all of the permits required and posted them on the wall.
Here I was …..an "official" business owner! I advertised in the local paper and opened up! People came, purchased, came again and purchased, and before I knew it, I had a customer base here also!
I only had the store open for a couple hours in the evening and on the weekend. When I wasn't open I would constantly be making stock for the shelves. All of this while still working a full time job during the day!
Well I did this for 1 1/2 yrs and decided it was to much for me, I had no spare time. Work during the day, come home and make stuff or open the store, sleep and back up to start over again. Every night and weekend devoted to making stock for the store and filling online orders. I even did a few local fundraisers!
So I had my official "closing" sale and sold off all of my supplies on the internet (love this internet!)
It was busy but I loved it and still sometimes miss it today. I am so glad that I was given the opportunity….I would have always wondered what it would have been like.
God has now blessed me with a new hobby, my son. Maybe when he gets older I'll venture back into it, who knows………
That is the end of my novel as a business owner!

Why do we Blog?
I think we all blog for different reasons. I have read so many blogs that all have different "subjects". Some happy, some sad yet they all have something different to offer. I started just to be able to have some place to come and jot down thoughts. Did I ever think someone would read them? Probably not......
Yet the internet is such an incredible place. People do come and read what I have to say although sometimes I myself don't find it very interesting. I have learned so much from people in such a short time. Again, everyone has something different to offer. Do friendships begin? As strange as it may sound, they in fact do. Will you ever meet half of the people face to face? Probably not yet we all enjoy this little friendship circle that begins.
Everyone wants to be accepted in some way, I think it's only human. Don't you remember when you were younger you always wanted to be included with the "group" and not be shuned away. I think it's the same when we grow older. It may not be as "intense" as it was when we were younger but who doesn't want to be accepted after all?
There will always be people that have different opinions on matters but that's what makes reading everyone's blogs so enjoyable. If people never come and read my blog will it matter? I guess in a way it would this way I wouldn't think all this typing is for nothing! But on the other hand it probably wouldn't matter because I still can come and unload my mind here.
Thank you for reading my blog if you do! (Thanks for the inspiration today Sheri!)

A Sad Thought
Well I knew this day would come sooner or later but I'm afraid my little baby is growing up. He has started to self wheen himself from the bottle. I know this should make things so much easier but truth is, I'm not ready to give it up yet! He still loves a bottle in the morning when he gets up and at night before bed but during the day, he wants a sippy cup. Thank god he still enjoys those bottle times atleast! Bottle time = cuddle time for us.......I look forward to cuddling him, playing with his hair and just plain enjoying "our" time together. Unfortunetly, mommy needs to be a big girl about this!

Ashley Adams
There are actually quite a few blogs that I check daily, one of them being "Ashley Adams". I don't know how I ended up getting there, but I must have reached it because her mom (Trish) is looking for prayers for her baby girl. Ashley is currently in the hospital undergoing chemo. Trish updates the log several times a day on Ashley's status. My heart goes out to her with every entry she types. I don't know where she finds the strength to endure what she does on a daily basis. Although when it's your child, you do what you have to. If only love could heal.....
Please say a prayer for Ashley and Trish that they make it thru these hard times and get to go back to their family.

What greater responsibility?
People would always ask me if I planned on having any children. I was married for over 14 years and no grandchildren existed in the family. Our families were pretty much ready to go out and adopt some grandchildren. My response always was "Do you know what an incredible responsibility a child is? Your entire life, from the time they are born, is dedicated to that child…….the rest of your life." To me, that was the most overwhelming responsibility a person could be given. The usual response was "Yes, BUT, you don't know what you are missing". Well no, I guess I didn't, after all, how could I miss something I never had?
In the spring of 2005 I found out I was pregnant. Talk about a shock! My first thought was, why now? Why after all these years did I finally get pregnant? I don't know that answer, only God does. He obviously felt it was "time".
Beside swollen feet and ankles, my pregnancy for the most part went very good. I was due Feb 15, 2006 but apparently my little guy was comfy cozy where he was. I had a doctor's appointment the following Tuesday and they sent me for an ultrasound. They admitted me that day because the scores weren't as high as they should have been. I was nervous and excited at the same time! They started pitocin on Wednesday morning but my little guy was stubborn and did not make his way into the world until Thursday at 11:57 PM.
A year has now gone by and I now know what everyone was talking about when they would tell me "you don't know what your missing". My son is the love of my life! Not a day goes by that I don't hug, kiss him or tell him "I love you" about 50 times during the day. I still feel raising a child is an enormous responsibility but I'm looking forward to it. It is our responsibility as a parent, to help "mold" this child into who they are going to be as they grow. I'm not talking about making them into someone WE want but "molding" them in the sense of being a caring, loving, responsible person. How can this NOT be a huge responsibility?

American Idol - Part 2
Well the girls did pretty good themselves!!! There are a few I really like, but I'm not ready to pick a favorite yet. I usually pick one or two when they get to the final 12. I don't know if Antonelle (? on spelling there) is going to make it. She doesn't seem to have a strong voice like the rest but hey, I'm no Simon so who am I to say.......she might go further then we think!!! Now, the wait for the results show.........
