Repetition, repetition, repetition I'm told is the key to success. This helps a child to develop and learn as he grows. Bed time routines........bath, reading, maybe a cookie and milk......same time everynight.......all this to teach them what to expect. Ok so........
One would think after 1,013 diaper changes (ok so maybe this number is slightly exaggerated but you get the point) that one would know what to "expect"! Same routine right? Dirty diaper = lay down so mommy can change it = clean diaper. This to me is "repetition". My son seems to think not.........to him this means...ok here come's mommy, spin, turn, spin again, cry, kick.......phew...ok I win I'm up standing now.
I cannot for the life of me understand why diaper changes are a struggle! It's not bad all of the time but a majority of the time it seems to be a struggle. Most of the time I prepare myself....I find something interesting, telephone, cellphone, shoe, diaper cream.....anything that MIGHT appeal to him and keep him occupied till I can get the diaper changed! He's catching on tho as he gets older, so his attention span is not what it use to be!
How can a little person looking this innocent give me such a run for my money???

Its good to know my kid isn't the only one doing this! I am not sure why I do not have something ready for her.I usually have to give up the diaper cream and then end up cleaning it off her face because she opens it with her teeth. Thanks for that tip. Last night Grace learned how to take off her diaper. Pee all over the floor, I think I had to put it back on 10 times. But I wouldn't trade any of it. Who would of thought some things would be so cute?
Sounds like he's found a fun game to play with momma! Good luck.
I always had to sing pattycake to my daughter because she would want to put her hands in her messy diaper. Pattycake made her keep her hands up and her eyes on me.
The little one is only 3 months old - I can already tell he is going to give me a run for my money!
He is so sweet but even at that age they try to be boss. I sure Mom will always win in the end. Keep up the good work, Mom. connie from Texas
